The Environs of Beaconsfield

Location:

The historic town of Beaconsfield is located in the Chiltern Hills, 25 miles North West of London.

Amenities:

With its historic Old Town and vibrant New Town, surrounded by Green Belt, it is a wonderful place to live and work.

The picturesque Old Town dates to the thirteenth century, it has a rich array of award winning pubs and restaurants. More recently has seen the opening of The Crazy Bear Hotel — the oldest documented building in Beaconsfield, a fifteenth century coaching inn which has been elaborately redesigned and is now described as “one of the most extravagant hotels in the world.”

There is a weekly market and the monthly farmers market. It is also home to the National Film and Television School.

The dynamic new town offers a range of supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, banks, boutiques and independent shops. There is a large Sainsbury’s, Marks and Spencer, Waitrose. It is also home to the world famous Bekonscot model village — the oldest model village in the world.

There is a wide selection of community groups, sports clubs, leisure facilities, cultural organisations, churches and a library.

Buckinghamshire is renowned for its choice and standard of schooling. The county is one of the last to maintain the traditional grammar school system. The town and local area boasts some of the best schools within the UK with a great choice of primary and secondary education. This includes both state and private schools. There is also excellent private schooling.

Communications:

Beaconsfield has excellent transport links, which include a Chiltern Railways mainline rail service to London Marylebone (from 32 minutes) and Birmingham, whilst the close proximity of the M40 and M25 enable easy access to central London, the West Country, the south and Heathrow, Luton and Gatwick airports.

Housing Market:

Property ranges from smart apartments, character cottages, family and large detached houses, both old and new. Despite the recession the market towns around London continue to be hotspots … the most startling example of this is Beaconsfield which continues to gain a premium. Its wide variety of properties are some of the most expensive in the country for good reason: excellent local schools, quick commute into London Marylebone, great shopping, less congestion, lower levels of crime, beautiful parks and woodlands and so much more.

Beaconsfield manages to combine the best of both worlds, offering a beautiful, spacious, quiet environment while still being an easy commute to a major city. It comes top in nearly everything from health to house prices, GCSE results to life expectancy!
